DeKora Digital's First Album Release Scheduled For November 21, 2020

DeKora Digital Records Founder David Soto better known as Daso El Afro Caribeño, will officially release the first project Distancia under his independent label on November 21, 2020. The series of songs were written during self quarantine at the height of the COVID pandemic. Daso used his writing as a way to cope and as part of a spiritual and physical healing process. Having been severely impacted, Daso battled for life with the weapons of prayer, love and music therapy to name a few. The outcome was overcoming the physical and psychological impact ultimately leading to the birth of 7 spiritually charged compositions.

Each song is a reflection of the healing process that began in late April 2020. Every month for the following 7 months a new single was written and recorded at his home studio. It was clear that the songs were organically forming what was to become the solo album debut for Daso El Afro Caribeño. “This album wasn’t planned, it just poured out naturally from my soul. I knew this was going to be special, since the songs were practically writing themselves”. It had to be coming from a higher power, God”.

The songs document a spiritual journey of self reflection and healing. We are taken on a ride of quarantine life from April through November 2020 through the song titles "Blessings", “I Believe”, "Victory", "Back To Normal", "Deception", "Calling" and "Distancia". They are a mix of afro beat, pop, rock, gospel and hip hop. Most of the titles are written in “spanglish”. Daso's approach to his writing is a clear reflection of his early exposure to the arts and poetry. Growing up on the lower east side of Manhattan, New York, among Nuyorican Poets and migrating between New York and Puerto Rico allow for a natural expression in the English and Spanish languages.

Dekora Digital Debuts On La Voz Internacional

Late December 2015 I had the honor of being interviewed for La Voz Internacional.  LVI is a latin based online and hard copy newspaper distributed throughout New York City and the Tri-State Area.  Our conversation was about the blessings of talents, namely music and art.  How music transcends race colors and language.  And also how music is a gift to be shared with the world.  At one point it was asked what are your upcoming endeavors and plans for 2016; the response was "Launch A Record Label".  What will that label be called?  The answer was very clear and direct - "Dekora Digital".  Dekora Digital was inspired initially of the word De Corazon which means "Of The Heart".  A slang term used amongst some latinos is "Decora".  The thought was to establish a label that will promote music of various genres and cultures.  A label that will promote the art of creating and collaboration but also transcend the limitations of the music stereotypes.  A label that will promote multiculturalism and diversity through its music.  A label that will inspire the world to continue to think outside and utilize the power of communication to create new and invigorating music.  In January 2016 the world was introduced to DeKora Digital.  DeKora Digital is a an Audio Recording and Video Recording Digitial Media and Marketing Company.
